Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) is an independent non-profit research institute based in Bratislava, Slovakia.
It fosters multidisciplinary research about the functioning of labour markets and institutions, work and organizations, business and society, and ethnicity and migration in the economic, social, and political life of modern societies. In its applied research and policy analysis, CELSI fosters intensive cooperation with internationally recognized research institutions, seeking to build a bridge between forefront international expertise and in-depth knowledge of local experts.
Besides its academic competence, CELSI provides expert data services, including data collection, processing, and analysis.
Being part of the global Wage Indicator team, since 2010 CELSI has been responsible for the management of online surveys of wages and working conditions in over 80 countries in the world.
CELSI has a wide network of research fellows and affiliates. Its researchers regularly participate in international research projects, including projects commissioned by the European Commission, the ILO, Eurofound, OECD, the World Bank, European Labour Authority, national governments in several EU Member States, and similar.
CELSI series of discussion papers and research reports cover a wide scope of research on labour markets, migration, new forms of work and social dialogue, and collective bargaining.
